A great leader must be many things, the first however, is a humble servant.
TIMELINE NARRATIVE
As we move into the second semester of the school year, we are excitedly preparing to showcase the growth and progress the students have made throughout the year.
Currently we are continuing to develop and fine tune the accountable talk skills of the students. The use of accountable talk in discussions provides additional opportunities for students to earn class cash. Students will also continue to write weekly reflection logs to share and foster communication with parents and family members.
As we approach March students will have to choose their science fair topics so that they can begin the research process that will include seeking out (with teacher/parent support) and consulting with experts on their science fair topics. This communication should continue throughout the science fair process and conclude with an invitation to view the final project at the science fair in June. Students will also begin to dialogue and collaborate academically more independently by blogging.
In April and May, improvement in student communication skills will be formally measured through the use of surveys to parents in late April and students and staff in May.
Our culminating activity will tentatively take place during the first week in June. The science fair will allow the students to publicly demonstrate scientific prowess to the school staff, students, parents and educational partners who have supported the students learning throughout the year.
